The full journey, step by step
This is the pathway we run for every international patient. Timings are typical; your case may move faster or slower depending on the diagnosis and how quickly documents come together.
Send us your case
Share what you have — we will tell you what is missing.
Contact us through WhatsApp, email or the form on this site with whatever records you already have. There is no charge and no obligation at this stage. Do not wait until your file is complete: an incomplete file that we can see is far more useful than a complete one that arrives three weeks later.
- Imaging: send the original DICOM files, not only printed films
- Pathology and biopsy reports, or the paraffin block if a re-read is needed
- Laboratory results from the past three months
- A complete medication list with generic names, doses and frequency
- Any genetic or molecular testing already performed
- A short note in your own words: what happened, and what you want to know
Specialist review
Your records, read by the department that knows the condition.
Our coordinators translate and organise your file, then present it to the appropriate specialist at one of our partner hospitals. You receive a written opinion or, where the case warrants it, a video consultation with the treating physician.
- Records translated into Chinese where required
- Matched to the right department, not simply the nearest hospital
- Written second opinion or video consultation
- An honest statement of whether we can help, and what the realistic options are
Treatment plan and cost estimate
A working plan and a cost range — before you commit to anything.
If the hospital accepts your case, you receive a preliminary treatment plan with an itemised cost range and an expected length of stay. This is a working estimate based on your records, not a binding quotation — the final plan is confirmed after your in-person consultation in China.
- Preliminary treatment plan from the treating department
- Itemised cost range, distinguishing hospital from non-hospital costs
- Expected length of stay and recovery time
- Any further tests required before a final decision
Hospital invitation letter
The single document your visa application depends on.
Once the hospital accepts your case, its international department issues an official invitation letter. It names you exactly as your passport does, states the medical purpose, the treating department, the planned procedure and the expected dates. Obtaining this letter from abroad is normally the slowest part of the process — which is why we start here and chase it ourselves.
- Issued on hospital letterhead with the hospital's official stamp
- Names you exactly as your passport spells it, with your passport number
- States the diagnosis, department, planned treatment and expected duration
- Issued separately for each accompanying family member where required
- We liaise with the international department on your behalf
Visa and travel preparation
The right visa category, and a trip built around your treatment dates.
We identify which visa category fits your treatment — this matters more than most patients expect, because applying under the wrong purpose is a common reason for refusal. Once your visa is issued, we plan flights, accommodation and transfers around your admission date. Do not book non-refundable flights before the visa is in your passport.
- S2 visa (short-stay private affairs) — the standard route for hospital treatment
- S1 visa for treatment expected to exceed 180 days
- Visa-free entry for eligible nationalities — suitable for short diagnostic trips
- Document checklist prepared for your specific consulate
- Accommodation within walking distance of the hospital
Arrival and reception
Someone is waiting for you at the airport.
Send us your flight details and we will meet you. A coordinator — and, where needed, an interpreter — travels with you to your accommodation or, if your admission is same-day, directly to the hospital ward. Our job on arrival is to make the first 24 hours uneventful.
- Airport pickup with a name board
- Local SIM card and mobile data set up on arrival
- Accommodation check-in and a short orientation
- Hospital pre-registration completed in advance where possible
- A coordinator's number you can reach at any hour
Consultation and treatment
The plan is confirmed in person, then acted on.
Your first in-person consultation confirms or adjusts the plan. Be aware of one thing that remote reviews cannot shortcut: most public hospital specialists require an in-person outpatient visit before they will schedule surgery. The remote review gets you in quickly and gets you in correctly — it does not replace the assessment.
- Registration, consultation and examination with interpretation
- Pre-operative investigations completed efficiently
- Surgery or medical treatment as planned
- Interpreter present at consent discussions and key consultations
- A coordinator dealing with hospital administration throughout
Recovery and follow-up
You go home with the paperwork you will need.
Before discharge you receive an English discharge summary, itemised invoices and a copy of your imaging and reports. After you return home we arrange remote follow-up with your treating physician and, with your permission, transfer your records to your own doctor.
- English discharge summary for your physician and your insurer
- Itemised invoices — without these an insurance claim will stall
- Medication plan and prescription guidance for the journey home
- Remote follow-up consultations with the treating physician
- Records transferred to your doctor at home, with your consent
